About the Event
Introducing our Native BC Bee Society Native Bees and Botany club! Our inaugural sessions will be led by Lori Weidenhammer, who will introduce a basic BC bee plant list project we are undertaking. Darren Kirby and Bob McDougal have been working with Lori to use our collective iNaturalist projects find out the most common native plants native bees use for forage in coastal and interior BC. We will then create some planting charts to help you help native bees by adding these plants to your garden, school, farm, and “beeyond”. We can use your help to do a deep dive into these plants to share your research and photos of bees on plants. Bee nerds and botany nerds unite!
The format will be a participatory Zoom presentation. For now, just bring your curiosity and your passion and we’ll get this pollinator party rolling!
